Illuminating the true and orthodox Tao, they spread transformation through the southern skies. The Nine Sovereigns descended their traces at Tiantai; one lineage flowed through from Patriarch Liu. He gathered the immortal marvel of the jasper flower and wrote the alchemical book Awakening to Perfection (Wuzhen Pian). The Tao was passed to Xinglin, who before long compiled the book on returning to the origin; the law reached Jizu, whereupon the book on the elixir marrow was completed. The Perfected rose up from Huizhou; on his native ground his awakening surpassed all in divine brilliance. Once the knife-point of elixir entered his mouth, his divine transformations knew no bounds. He wielded thunder and rain in his palm and revived the people beyond the world. His virtue shone across the Southern Sea, where he won the flowering eminence of Qiongyu; his Tao spread to the remotest wilds, filling them with the numinous wonder of the words of the law. Traces at Longhu and Luofu, writings at Wuyi and Yulong. His transforming presence passed through many regions, and his true writings are complete. Foremost among the host of immortals, gathering the models of former generations. Of deep and vast vows, compassionate, benevolent, and holy Patriarchs. Wuzhen, Perfected Ziyang.
