China Taoist Academy
On the morning of January 16, 2026, the China Taoist Academy held its 2025 annual assessment meeting. Li Guangfu, president of the China Taoist Association and president of the China Taoist Academy, attended and spoke. Guo Hanwen, vice president of the China Taoist Association, attended the meeting. Yuan Zhihong, executive vice president of the China Taoist Academy, vice president Wang Shuxian, and all the academy's faculty and staff took part. The meeting was chaired by Executive Vice President Yuan Zhihong.
Executive Vice President Yuan Zhihong gave a comprehensive summary of the academy's work in 2025 in terms of ideological and political guidance, the advancement of education and teaching, the practice of the sinicization of Taoism, the building of school ethos and institutions, logistical services and support, and cooperation with the work of the Association. He systematically reviewed the year's achievements and experience and, in light of the academy's actual development, put forward its work plan for 2026.
The assessment took the form of on-site work reports. On the principle of objectivity and fairness, all the academy's faculty and staff conducted a democratic evaluation of those reporting, ensuring that the assessment was solid and effective.
In his concluding speech, Association President and Academy President Li Guangfu fully affirmed the remarkable results the academy had achieved in all areas of its work in 2025 and made three requests for the work of 2026: first, to hold to the political direction and deepen the practice of the sinicization of Taoism; second, to focus on talent as the foundation and comprehensively raise the quality of education and training; and third, to persist in the strict governance of the religion and secure the baseline of safety and stability.
Looking to the future, all the academy's faculty and staff will always uphold the comprehensive leadership of the Party, thoroughly implement the Party's basic policy on religious work, and, with firm conviction, a pragmatic style, and innovative measures, drive improvements in the quality and efficiency of the academy's management, contributing greater strength to the high-quality development of Taoist education, the promotion of China's fine traditional culture, and the healthy transmission of Taoism.
