On January 6, 2026, a signing meeting for the Publication Cooperation Agreement on the Chinese Supplementary Taoist Canon was held in Beijing. Attendees included Li Guangfu, president of the China Taoist Association; resident vice presidents Meng Zhiling and Guo Hanwen; secretary-general Kuang Sheng; Zhan Shichuang, Distinguished Professor at Sichuan University and chief expert of the Chinese Supplementary Taoist Canon; Zha Qing, deputy director of the Social Sciences Office of Sichuan University; and Wang Zhuying, president, and Bai Ya, editor-in-chief, of Bashu Publishing House in Sichuan.

Li Guangfu fully affirmed the achievements of the compilation and publication project for the Chinese Supplementary Taoist Canon and set out three hopes. First, to take a higher perspective and fulfill the project's political responsibility and cultural mission to the highest standard. Second, to work closely together and unite the strengths of all three parties through the smoothest possible communication. Third, to keep the goal firmly in sight and ensure the pace of publication and the quality of the results through the strongest joint effort. He stressed that all parties involved in the publication should be of one heart and one mind and pool their efforts to ensure that this sacred historical mission is successfully completed.

Zha Qing said that Sichuan University will continue to support the compilation and publication of the Chinese Supplementary Taoist Canon as it always has, keep improving its support measures, and bring together high-quality resources from within and outside the university to provide comprehensive services for the publication work. At the same time, the compilation principles must be strictly followed and quality rigorously controlled, with the aim of making the Chinese Supplementary Taoist Canon a cultural masterpiece that stands the test of history and lives up to the mission of the times.

Wang Zhuying said that Bashu Publishing House, as a specialist publisher of ancient texts, will make full use of its experience in publishing classical works and in Taoist textual research, strictly control the editing and proofreading process and the quality of publication, and do everything it can to bring the Chinese Supplementary Taoist Canon, a major national cultural project, to publication at an early date. At the meeting, Li Guangfu, Zha Qing, and Bai Ya signed the Publication Cooperation Agreement on the Chinese Supplementary Taoist Canon on behalf of the China Taoist Association, Sichuan University, and Bashu Publishing House respectively.

As a sub-project of the Chinese Ancient Books Protection Program, the compilation and publication project for the Chinese Supplementary Taoist Canon carries the important mission of passing on the Taoist scriptures, promoting China's fine traditional culture, and strengthening cultural confidence. Since its launch, under the strong guidance of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee and with close cooperation among all parties, the project has achieved solid interim results: cataloguing and textual collation of the Original Rare Editions series, comprising eight collections and 640 volumes, has been completed, and the first four collections, totaling 320 volumes, are ready for publication. The signing of the Publication Cooperation Agreement on the Chinese Supplementary Taoist Canon marks a new stage in the compilation and publication of the Chinese Supplementary Taoist Canon.
